Nickel 200 · UNS N02200 · W. Nr. 2.4066
Nickel 200 (N02200): composition, properties, fittings and flanges
Nickel 200 (N02200, W. Nr. 2.4066) is Commercially pure wrought nickel (99.6 % Ni). Nickel 200 is specified at Copper 0.25 max. Nickel 200 is the base commercially pure nickel: unmatched resistance to caustic alkalis and reducing chemicals, plus the electrical and thermal conductivity that makes it the standard for caustic…

Product forms available
Hangbo supplies this grade in the following forms. Sizes outside the listed range can often be produced to order.
- Forged flanges blanks and finished flanges to ASME B16.5, B16.47 Series A/B and B16.36
- Butt weld elbows, tees, reducers, caps and stub ends to ASME B16.9 and MSS SP-43
- Seamless pipe and tube to the applicable ASTM / ASME pipe specification
- Forged rings, discs and hubs machined to your drawing
Typical applications
- Caustic soda evaporators, piping and vessels
- Food processing and synthetic fibre production equipment
- Electrical and electronic components and battery parts
- Fluorine and halogen handling below 315 °C
Welding, forming and machining
- Welding
- Weld with ERNi-1 filler by GTAW, GMAW or SMAW. Sulphur, lead and other low-melting contaminants must be absent or the weld will crack.
- Heat treatment
- Anneal at 705 - 925 °C and cool as required. Above about 315 °C the carbon in Nickel 200 precipitates as graphite, so specify Nickel 201 for hotter service.
- Hot and cold forming
- Hot work in the range stated by the mill for this grade, then re-solution or re-age before final machining so that the delivered condition matches the certificate.
- Machining
- Machine with sharp carbide or high-speed steel tooling, positive rake, constant feed and ample coolant. Never dwell - the surface work-hardens quickly.
