Proof, not promises: how Hangbo controls and documents alloy supply
Certified to ISO 9001:2015, GB/T 19001-2016 and GJB 9001C-2017, with heat-number traceability and EN 10204 3.1 certificates issued from our own test results.
In-house testing capability
| Test or control | What it proves | Typical standard |
|---|---|---|
| Optical emission spectrometry | Full elemental composition of the heat | ASTM E1476 / mill procedure |
| Tensile testing | Yield, tensile strength and elongation at room and elevated temperature | ASTM E8 / E21 |
| Charpy impact | Toughness at the design minimum temperature | ASTM E23 |
| Hardness testing | Heat treatment condition and sour service compliance | ASTM E10 / E18 |
| Ultrasonic testing | Internal soundness of bar, forging and plate | ASTM A388 / A578 / EN 10308 |
| Eddy current testing | Surface breaking defects in tube and pipe | ASTM E426 |
| Hydrostatic testing | Pressure tightness of pipe and fittings | ASTM B829 / applicable product spec |
| Intergranular corrosion | Sensitisation control in stainless and nickel grades | ASTM G28 Method A, ASTM A262 Practice E |
| Positive material identification | Correct grade actually installed | Handheld XRF with documented calibration |
Certificate types explained
| Certificate | What it means | When to specify |
|---|---|---|
| EN 10204 3.1 | Manufacturer declaration with actual test results from the heat lot | Standard supply for all orders |
| Third party test report (SGS) | Independent inspection, sampling and laboratory report issued by SGS or another recognised third party agency | Critical service, regulatory and most EPC projects |
| Mill test certificate | Chemical, mechanical and heat treatment record for one heat number | Always - request with the order |
| Heat treatment chart | Recorded furnace temperature trace for the batch | Whenever properties depend on thermal processing |
| NDT reports | UT, PT, RT, ET or hydrostatic results against agreed acceptance | Where the project ITP requires it |
Traceability from melt to part
- Each heat receives a unique number that follows the material from melting through every stage to the delivered product.
- Markings follow MSS SP-25 so the number remains readable after installation.
- Cut pieces keep the transferred heat number, supported by a cutting plan when parts are nested.
- Photographic records of markings are retained before coating or insulation.
- Consolidated certificate packages are issued for mixed-alloy shipments.
Quality questions
Can you follow our project inspection and test plan?
Yes. Send the ITP with your enquiry and we will confirm coverage, witness points, hold points and document format before order placement.
Do you perform positive material identification?
Yes. PMI can be performed on 100 % of items or on an agreed statistical basis, using calibrated handheld XRF with results reported against the certified ladle analysis.
How do you control heat treatment?
Furnaces are calibrated with instrumentation held to ±5 °C uniformity, every batch is recorded on chart, and mechanical test coupons representing that batch are tested before release.
What happens if a test result fails?
Non-conforming material is quarantined and clearly identified. We notify the customer immediately with root cause, corrective action and replacement plan rather than shipping and hoping the certificate is never checked.
Can you arrange third party inspection?
Yes. We arrange independent inspection, sampling and laboratory testing through SGS and other recognised agencies, and the resulting third party test report is issued with the shipment.
