Product forms available

Hangbo supplies this grade in the following forms. Sizes outside the listed range can often be produced to order.

  • Forged flanges blanks and finished flanges to ASME B16.5, B16.47 Series A/B and B16.36
  • Butt weld elbows, tees, reducers, caps and stub ends to ASME B16.9 and MSS SP-43
  • Seamless pipe and tube to the applicable ASTM / ASME pipe specification
  • Forged rings, discs and hubs machined to your drawing

Typical applications

  • Heat treatment baskets, trays, retorts and muffles
  • Salt bath and carburising furnace fixtures
  • Glass, ceramic and cement kiln furniture
  • Rotary retorts and annealing covers

Welding, forming and machining

Welding
Weld by GTAW or GMAW with ERNiCr-3. Silica-containing service needs a filler matched for oxidation resistance, not just strength.
Heat treatment
Anneal at 1035 - 1120 °C and air or water cool.
Hot and cold forming
Hot work in the range stated by the mill for this grade, then re-solution or re-age before final machining so that the delivered condition matches the certificate.
Machining
Machine with sharp carbide or high-speed steel tooling, positive rake, constant feed and ample coolant. Never dwell - the surface work-hardens quickly.

Incoloy 330 / RA330 frequently asked questions

What is the chemical composition of Incoloy 330 / RA330?
Incoloy 330 / RA330 is supplied to the following composition limits: Nickel (Ni) 34.0 - 37.0; Chromium (Cr) 17.0 - 20.0; Iron (Fe) Balance; Silicon (Si) 0.75 - 1.50; Manganese (Mn) 2.00 max; Carbon (C) 0.08 max; Phosphorus (P) 0.030 max; Sulphur (S) 0.030 max. Single figures are maximum limits unless shown as a range; the heat analysis on your EN 10204 3.1 certificate is the governing record.
Which specifications cover Incoloy 330 / RA330 flanges and pipe fittings?
Forged flanges and forging stock: ASTM B511 / B512 (UNS N08330). Butt weld elbows, tees, reducers and caps: ASTM B366 (WP grade to order). Hangbo supplies to these specifications with dimensional compliance to ASME B16.5, B16.47 or B16.9 as applicable.
What is Incoloy 330 / RA330 normally used for?
The main uses are heat treatment baskets, trays, retorts and muffles; salt bath and carburising furnace fixtures; glass, ceramic and cement kiln furniture. Buyers pick it where the alternative would be a lower alloyed grade that would not survive the service.
Can Hangbo supply Incoloy 330 / RA330 elbows, tees and flanges from stock or to order?
Yes. We forge and machine flanges to ASME B16.5 and B16.47, form butt weld elbows and tees to ASME B16.9, and supply matching seamless pipe, all from the same heat where required so that the whole spool carries one set of mechanical properties. Lead times depend on size and quantity - send the drawing or the line list for a firm quote.
