Product forms available
Hangbo supplies this grade in the following forms. Sizes outside the listed range can often be produced to order.
- Sheet and plate for combustor cans and liners
- Seamless tube for high-temperature ducting
- Forged rings and flanges to drawing
- Elbows, tees and reducers to ASME B16.9
- Fabricated burner arrays, flame holders and afterburner parts
Typical applications
- Industrial gas turbine combustor cans, transition ducts and augmentors
- Petrochemical reformer furnaces, ethylene cracking coils and radiant tubes
- Fluidised bed, waste incineration and clinker cooler hardware
- Aircraft heater ducts, tailpipes and cabin heater components
- Nuclear high-temperature gas cooled reactor internals
- Hot gas fans, dampers and expansion joints above 900 °C
Welding, forming and machining
- Welding
- Weld readily by GTAW, GMAW, resistance and electron beam methods using ERNiCrMo-2 filler. No preheat; solution anneal at about 1175 °C after heavy cold work.
- Hot forming
- Hot work between 1180 °C and 950 °C, then solution anneal at 1130-1175 °C and cool rapidly for optimum creep and oxidation performance.
- Machining
- Standard high-temperature alloy practice: carbide tooling, low cutting speeds, high feed, rigid fixturing and ample coolant.
- Ageing note
- Long-term service exposure between 650 °C and 870 °C will age the alloy, raising strength while reducing ductility, but without the severe embrittlement seen in some other superalloys.
